| We have a female year 11 2025 team heading on the 5 day discovery voyage on the Spirit of Adventure in June 2025. Spirit of Adventure is about "empowering young New Zealanders to reaching their full potential through the challenge of the sea". We are looking for one more female to join the crew. Preferrably you would be in year 10 currently and year 11 next year. Please email aej@whs.school.nz or see me in the Dean's office by Wednesday to register your interest! Here are some more details: What is a discovery voyage? This is the perfect opportunity to jump on Spirit of New Zealand with some of your classmates and discover adventure, challenge and a healthy bit of competition all in the salty sea air in Auckland’s Hauraki Gulf. Similar to what used to be called our ‘Trophy’ voyage in the past, this new ‘Discovery Voyage’ is for 5 days on board our tall ship for a group of 5 or 10 students from a school (40 young people on board in total). Activities in the programme include ship-handling, teamwork, problem-solving, debating, and water sports (in and on the water). Students go ashore and complete tasks and enjoy competitive games that involve ingenuity, leadership and fun. As a team the students will enjoy a learning experience like no other that guarantees challenge, adventure, creativity and reward. |
