Careers GIRLBOSS EDGE PTD
  Applications are now OPEN for GirlBoss Edge: Tech for Good, a life-changing 10-day Online Career Accelerator for young women aged 15 - 21, which is happening in the July school holidays. It is fully funded for 400 young women across New Zealand.
GirlBoss is for students with aspirations in:STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths), Business, Innovation, Social Change,
Leadership or considering any career where they can make a difference.

It’s happening from 12th - 21st July and can be completed in just 1-2 hours a day. Students can also complete a CV-worthy challenge which could earn them work experience and prizes.

Careers STEMINISM - UC Women in Engineering and Technology Evening 27 June 2024 PTD
  This free event will be held on campus, and broadcast online. It is aimed at year 11 - 13 students who identify as female and are interested in finding out more about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) study and career options.

STEMINISM will highlight how a career in STEM can help young women make a difference in the world. The event will feature presentations from current UC students and young women working in various STEM industries, as well as an overview of UC degree options.

Bring your artwork to the art department by Week 9, Thursday June 27, for the exhibition, which will run at the end of the term! All submitted artworks will be exhibited! General Girls in Games VSW
  Tech Step are seeking registrations for a full-day workshop on July 17th at Hutt Valley High School, designed specifically for girls in Years 11-13 who are interested in game development. This immersive event, presented by Tech Step and Media Design School, offers hands-on experience in game design, art, and programming. Students will learn the fundamentals of game creation, engage in inspiring activities, and connect with like-minded peers. Morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea will be provided. Spots are limited to 30 participants, so secure your place today and start your journey into the world of games!

General In House Debating RYC
  Inhouse debating has started up! Inhouse debates are being run like a workshop this year, and will give you a breakdown of what debating is and how it works. If you have wanted to see what debating is like without any stress or pressure, this is the club for you! These workshops will teach you the basics of debating. Debating is good for public speaking, confidence with speeches, and can lead to competitive debating. Mock debates are sometimes held. Meetings are straight after school on Wednesday on L2 of mainblock.

  Ex-student King Kapisi is coming into school this Friday to be inducted on The Wall Of Fame. He has kindly offered to do a free performance in the Riley Centre from 1.35pm on Friday (lunchtime). Student are very welcome to attend.

  Tuesday 25th June, is the last day to order and pay for ID cards this term - $10 standard ID card or $25 snapper/ID card - (any payments made after that date, will have ID cards delivered in the first week of term 3) - please remember that payment needs to be made first, before the ID card order can be put through. Please allow one week for delivery, where upon, the ID card will be handed out in class by student's roopu teacher, thanks Student Services

It involves you spending a day with a tech business in town. This year the event will take place on August the 6th.
