Careers University of Otago - Radiation Therapy Online Information Evening PTD
  If you are looking for a health career that combines science, caring and technology, this three-year degree is a great choice. Taught from our Wellington campus, it opens up excellent carer opportunities in cancer care.

This online session includes Q & As with current students telling you about their experience.

  INTERESTED IN RADIATION THERAPY?

WELLINGTON TERTIARY OPEN DAY EVENT

The Department of Radiation Therapy at the University of Otago, Wellington is holding an Open Day for Year 13 students on Friday 25th August, 3 - 5 pm. Come and find out about this great career choice.

The BRT three-year degree is taught from our Wellington campus with clinical placements in cancer centres around New Zealand.

General Debating RYC
  Speech Competitions
Two annual speech competitions - Stockley Cup and Dunsheath Plate are coming up.

Stockley: open to all Senior students (11 to 13), speeches 6 to 8 minutes long. Thursday 8 August, 6pm at Rutherford House at Victoria University's Pipitea Campus.

Dunsheath: open to all Junior students (years 9 and 10), speeches 4 to 6 minutes. Tuesday 6 August, 6pm at Rutherford House at Victoria University's Pipitea Campus.

Both are oratory competitions in which students will be asked to make a speech about any topic of their choice. Speeches should be prepared and will be judged on oratory skill, but students may use cue cards or notes and time themselves with a phone or stopwatch..

Each school may enter one student into Stockley Cup and two students into Dunsheath Plate.

Entries are needed by Friday 2 August, and need to include the name of the student, their year level, and the title of the speech. Because these are open entries, please share this info with anyone who is interested. Any questions, please email me at leogrka@whs.school.nz.

 
 
General Market Day BTS
  Year 10 market day is in the foyer at lunchtime on Wednesday. Bring some cash and be there early for a range of great of food and all sorts of other stuff.

We’ve sent out a very short survey to reflect on the term, it’d be very very helpful if as many people filled it out as possible. Sport CSW Skateboard Comp SIJ
  This year CSW are running the annual Skateboard comp in kilbirnie rec centre.
If you are interested please come up to the sports office above the Tindall gym and sign up.

Students Chess LTH
  Come and play some social or competitive chess for the final Wednesday lunch of the term! We are in E102. All are welcome. Bring any chess challenges that you know for others to attempt!

Students ShadowTech 2024 VSW
  Last chance to express an interest in attending ShadowTech.
ShadowTech is a chance for year 9 and year 10 girls to see what it is like working in a technology business.
This year WHS has been partnered with the ANZ bank. We will be spending Tuesday the 6th of August with them rather than at school.

Students WHS School Ball (Yr 12/13) BAC
  Students who have registered and who have been approved to come to the Ball MUST pay for their tickets (online) before the end of this term. If students have a real difficulty doing this, please come to see your Dean ASAP.
Tickets are $85 and we kindly ask that you pay online or through the parent portal. Please use Student ID and Name when paying, with a reference ‘Senior Ball’.
