  Chess Club is back for term 3 every Wednesday lunchtime in E102!
All are welcome whether you're a beginner or grandmaster.

  If you've played games like Super Smash Bros before and are looking for a chance to prove your talent to all your friends, or are just looking for some fun. We'd love to see you at our upcoming official WHSFGC Tournament! It's completely free to enter and there are some prizes if you place high enough! We are going to be doing a tournament for Super Smash Bros and also Rivals of Aether, and it will be starting on Tuesday the 30th (In Week 2). If that sounds good to you feel free to come to COM2 on Friday for our weekly club where you can get some practice in, and if not we'll be meeting in the computer end of the library at the start of lunch on Tuesday the 30th!

 
Students Old School Runescape Club M207 Mon 5 Aug 1:20pm KNM
  Are you a fan of DnD? Then you might like Old School Runescape, one of the world's first MMO's. Play with your friends on different servers as you do various quests and slay various foes. The graphics aren't the best, but the journey is worth it.

Some Notes if you Want to Join:
-It's recommended that you play OSRS on the Runelite program, which will be sorted out at the club.
-The main servers are 301 and 430, but feel free to choose your own if you want.

This club is in M207 on Monday Lunchtimes.

General Market Day in the Riley Centre on Tuesday at lunchtime! LTH
  It's the biggest market day of the year! Thirteen year 11 Business Studies groups are selling their goods & services at lunchtime on Tuesday the 30th in the Riley Centre (+ special stalls outside the entrance to the school & in the undercroft). We have a great range of products available so bring your cash (or phone for bank transfers) and check it out! Here are the group's pitches:

Sugar Swirls: "Sweet and fluffy candy floss with multiple flavours available."

General Tongariro snow tramp for senior students PAB
  Tararua Tramping Club is offering to teach students the use of crampons and ice axes
We stay overnight in a DOC hut and tramp to the South Crater of Ruapehu.

General Workplace rights session in the Library on Thursday lunchtime LTH
  Come learn about your rights in the workplace, what unions are, and the state of the economy.

On Thursday lunchtime in the library Craig Renney from the Council of Trade Unions is visiting the library from 1:30pm (so you have time to have some kai beforehand). He'll talk about workplace rights, unions, and the challenges workers face in Aotearoa. He'll also be able to answer questions you might have about any of these issues.

If you're working, having issues at work, interested in working in the future, or just want to know more about worker's rights then this talk is for you!

All students & staff are welcome. If anyone has questions please contact Mr Lockhart (LTH).

Students NZAMT Senior Maths Competition GEZ
  Entry is free in 2024...!!
This year, we are again running a one-off 90-minute competition on Tuesday 13th August (during NZMaths Week).
The competition will be open to Individuals or Groups of 2 – 3 and will take place at school.
Further details of the location and time of the event will be available closer to the competition day.
Recommended for Year 11 – 13 students, but open to any year levels.
