Careers Application for Gateway Work Experience 2025 Now Open (Yr 12 & 13) WSP
  All year 11 & 12 students have been emailed the Gateway Expression of Interest form and information about the work experience programme. The form must be signed by a parent or caregiver and can be returned to Student Services or Paula in COM 5.

Gateway is not a timetabled class and successful students will have to catch up on the school work they miss due to the work placement. You can choose a day that works best for you and that least impacts your school timetable.

You must have good attendance. Some courses and work placements will start as soon as Term 1 next year so get your forms in now.

General Board Of Trustees Student Rep Voting BTS
  Voting for the student rep on the BoT will happen in rōpū next Tuesday. If you know you will be away, for example on a school trip, you may cast your vote at school reception at lunch time on Friday. Only do this if you are certain that you will be out on Tuesday.

 
 
General BoT student Candidate Debate BTS
  Come to the library at lunchtime on Friday to hear the Board of Trustees student rep candidates compete for your vote! They will debate the issues you care about. Come and take part in democracy!

  From next week the counselling waiting area will no longer be available for anyone except those waiting for a scheduled appointment. This will be talked about during your next assembly. If you need support please email counselling@whs.school.nz or talk to your rōpū teacher.

  Looking for lunchtime entertainment? Come to our ENL000 class fundraiser in Rātā 1 on Monday (Sept 23) and enjoy a screening of One Piece (anime) and some student music videos faves from Colombia, Pakistan, Korea and more! Bring your lunch. Gold coin donation.

  Kia ora koutou katoa Yr 9 & 10 Art students from terms 1 & 2 this year. This is your last chance to collect your Art workbooks from the D block foyer. After Friday 20th they will be recycled.

General OutLOUD week 10 SHP
  Week 10 of term is OutLOUD, WHS's pride week, run by UV. There will be lunchtime events throughout the week to celebrate!

Tuesday 24th will be a rainbow quiz in the library, prizes to be won!
Wednesday 25th will be a drag show in the Riley centre with 4 fabulous Wellington performers! (koha donation for entry, please bring a gold coin)
Thursday 26th will be the annual Rainbow Dress Up Day, so wear your brightest colours, and head to the foyer at lunchtime to buy baked goods and crafts, get your nails done, or your face painted!
And finally, Friday 27th head to the hall at lunchtime where you can dance to some LGBT+ anthems.

Any money raised at the drag show and bake sale will be donated to InsideOUT, a local LGBTQIA+ charity organisation.

 
 
General Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori- Hoodies and Tote Bags MEA
  We are selling hoodies and tote bags to celebrate Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori and Taraika's 30th Birthday!
Hoodies are from AS Colour and are $70, Tote Bags are $20, designed by a Year 13 student.
All money raised will go towards our guest speakers for the week.

Come see the best films from the year 11,12 and 13 media studies class, buy the first copies of the Flannel, hot off the press, and see who wins the awards decided by our industry judges.

Tix are $5 and you will get a complimentary (free) fill your own lolly bag at the door.

It's a red carpet event, so dress up and have your photo taken by one of our red carpet photographers.

Lost & Found Lost & Found Property Display - Wed 25 Sept (8.30am-2.20pm) NSF
  There is a large amount of unclaimed lost property in Student Services. An end of term display will be arranged in the foyer Wednesday morning (25 September). Display will be in situ from 8.30am-2.20pm to give students ample opportunity to check for personal belongings during the day. Items include hoodies, sweaters, jackets (puffer & rain), water bottles, headphones, keys and jewellery. To note: all unclaimed items will be given to charity over the term break.
